ROSE ROOM’S DMITRIY BOLOTNY & THOMAS LAFOND ECHO SOUNDS OF CONTEMPORARY R&B & PSYCHEDELIC SOUL IN THEIR DEBUT SINGLE, “FIGHTING FEELING.” RELEASED IN SEPTEMBER 2019, THE DUO HAS ANOTHER SIX SONGS SLATED FOR RELEASE THROUGHOUT 2019 – 2020.
A pure listening and visceral experience, Ampevene blends a free form frenzy, jagged riffs, and hypnotic rhythms into a tight, psychedelic, sonic landscape, designed to trip up and trip out any listener. Ampevene draws influence from renowned artists such as Omar Rodriguez Lopez, Miles Davis, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, TOOL, Mastodon, King Crimson, John Frusciante, and more, yet somehow manages to create something completely unique for their listeners. An Ampevene live show will walk you through an experimentation of sounds ranging from soft floating grooves to heavy math based confusion, and even downright noise. Yet somehow their complexity doesn’t outshine the pure emotion and even comfort that the songs exude at the same time.
“Ampevene delivers a highly energetic, atmospheric environment, tearing the borders between every genre at their disposal. Ampevene continues to set the bar high for progressive rock throughout New York, keeping spectators on their heels from their improvisational clash of metal and jazz.” – Karissa Doerr, NYS Music
Belle-Skinner is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer from New York. With a hauntingly beautiful, lilting soprano and innate sense of melody she crafts tales of songbirds, sirens and desert nomads – nuanced and layered stories which bridge the gap between past and present. Though her influences cover a broad range of genres – from French chansons and Russian folk to contemporary alt-pop and rock – her voice often draws comparisons to the likes of Joan Baez, Angel Olsen, Lana Del Rey, and Jeff Buckley.
