The Sea The Sea, Anna Vogelzang, Olivia Quillio
THE SEA THE SEA is an Upstate New York based indie folk-pop duo featuring what Huffington Post calls, “Two of the loveliest male-female voices you might ever hear this or any other year.” Paste Music / Daytrotter describes them as “defined by their infallible vocal harmonies and their unconventional song arrangements…a pop band only in their melodic infectiousness – otherwise they are at their best when subverting conventions.” The Sea The Sea has been featured on Audiotree, Paste Studio Sessions, and NPR’s Mountain Stage, as well as receiving praise from NPR (Heavy Rotation), American Songwriter, No Depression, Buzzfeed, Pitchfork, TED, and Parade. Their songs have earned features by Apple Music including “Best of the Week” and “A-List Singer/Songwriter,” and have received over 15 million streams on Spotify to date.
Anna Vogelzang The feeling of living within a transient physical state while living in new surroundings was the origin of Anna Vogelzang’s upcoming album, Beacon, co-produced with Tyler Chester, set to be released this October. The group of songs was born from both places of unknowing, and ultimately proved itself inspired by the West Coast ether. Beacon is Vogelzang’s seventh studio album and celebrates the momentum of surrendering to the unknown, a feeling she knows intimately from her time in L.A . Her music transcends place by acknowledging the true illuminating source of soul and sound: people and self.
Singer-songwriter Olivia Quillio isn’t afraid to feel it, say it or sing it. The Troy, NY native creates songs that feel at once raw and luminous. Taking influence from folk, jazz, and soul, Quillio has been praised for her “commendable lyrical guile,” “refreshingly honest” music, and passionate, intimate live performances. After living in Austin, TX and touring the country over the past decade, Quillio retreats to Upstate, NY to record her third full length album, Earthside.
